Michael Jackson straight-up stole his signature hit, "Billie Jean," from Donna Summer ... is what Quincy Jones claims, and it turns out -- on this topic, at least -- Quincy ain't so crazy.

Here's how Q broke it down to Vulture ..."Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs. [Donna Summer’s] 'State of Independence' and 'Billie Jean.' The notes don’t lie, man."

He's right. Through the magic of editing -- just like they do in recording studios -- we slowed down Donna's song, and BAM! The first 8 seconds here are just "State of Independence" ... then we added the famous bass line from "Billie Jean" on top of it.

Identical.

Just for giggles, you can check out both songs at full speed, too.

There's another piece to this puzzle ... Quincy actually produced Donna's song, too!

As for the timing -- Donna's album was released in the summer of 1982 ... when MJ and Quincy would have been working on the "Thriller" album. That came out in November 1982.

We got lover-of-all-things-MJ, Corey Feldman, out last night, and he thinks Quincy should share some of the blame for the song theft. Hmm ...

The son of former NBA coach Rick Adelman -- who was an assistant NBA coach himself -- was killed in Houston when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Officials confirm 44-year-old R.J. Adelman was walking around downtown Houston around noon on Feb. 2 when he was hit by an 80-year-old woman driving a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

According to the police report, Adelman was not using a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Adelman was transported to the hospital in serious condition and was pronounced dead 4 hours later. According to the Harris County medical examiner, Adelman died as a result of blunt force injuries.

The driver was questioned by police and released without charges. However, we're told the accident is still under investigation.

R.J. was a scout for the Sonics and the Kings before becoming an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets while his father was the head coach. He later followed his dad to Minnesota where he took a job as Director of Player Personnel for the Timberwolves.

Omarosa's tears were flowing on "Celebrity Big Brother," and the topic of convo getting her all worked up ... her time spent under President Trump.

The former White House staffer was having a heart-to-heart with fellow houseguest Ross Mathews, who questioned why she went to work for the Prez in the first place. Omarosa explains she felt it was a call to duty to serve her country -- not Trump -- but things turned sour pretty quickly.

To be fair ... 'Big Brother' contestants are known to play up the theatrics, but Omarosa certainly seemed sincere when she told Ross she was "haunted by tweets every single day" and attacked by Trump's other staffers when she tried to advise him.

Quentin Tarantino is issuing a mea culpa after old comments he made live on the air about Roman Polanski's child rape victim were met with rage.

Tarantino issued a statement Thursday, apologizing to Polanski's then-13-year-old victim, Samantha Geimer, after a 2003 interview with Howard Stern surfaced, during which he said the sex was "not rape" ... and that Geimer "wanted to have it."

Geimer addressed the controversy Tuesday, saying Tarantino's comments were "wrong" and "I bet he knows it."

In his apology, obtained by Indiewire, Tarantino responded, saying he's sorry for his "cavalier remarks." He also explicitly acknowledges Geimer "WAS raped by Roman Polanski" ... adding he "incorrectly played devil's advocate for the sake of being provocative."

Tarantino adds ... "So, Ms. Geimer, I was ignorant, and insensitive, and above all, incorrect. I am sorry Samantha."

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott let the cat out of the bag on Stormi's first name, but now we have more deets from her birth certificate, like her full name -- it's just Stormi Webster, no middle name.

The doc -- obtained by TMZ -- confirms the baby was born at Cedars-Sinai in L.A. Thursday, February 1 at 4:43 PM and weighed in at 8 lbs. 9 oz. For once, the Jenner-Kardashian's go-to doc, Dr. Paul Crane, did NOT do the honors. Stormi was brought into this world by Dr. Thais Aliabadi.

As we reported ... Kylie announced Stormi's birth Sunday a couple hours before the Super Bowl, and released a vid about the pregnancy she managed to keep on the DL for 9 months.

Former 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts died at the hands of a physician who was negligent and a pharmacy that enabled the doctor ... so claims Matt's estate in a new lawsuit.

The estate named Dr. Richard Snellgrove and Rite Aid as the ones responsible for Matt's death ... this according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ.

The estate claims Snellgrove's the one who prescribed high levels of opioids and benzodiazepines to Matt for years prior to his death. The suit claims Snellgrove has already been indicted in Alabama for Matt's death. The estate also faults Rite Aid for failing to comply with the Controlled Substances Act.

TMZ broke the story ... Matt died of an apparent overdose. He was scheduled to perform at a charity event when he was found dead in his hotel room. Matt's dad believed the possible OD was accidental.

That's what Chris Long and Jason Kelce did Thursday morning before the Super Bowl parade in Philly.

Kelce looks like a genie who was just let out of the bottle (he did grant Philly's wish, after all) and Long says he feels like Ric Flair in his fake fur coat.
