American actress Marley Shelton was just 19 years old when she landed the role of Wendy Peffercorn -- the hot lifeguard in the red bikini ... and Squints' girl crush -- in the 1993 film "The Sandlot."

Shelton shared the big screen with Mike Vitar as the team leader, Benny 'The Jet' Rodriguez, Tom Guiry as the new kid, Scott Smalls, Chauncey Leopardi as Wendy's #1 fan, Michael 'Squints' Palledorous ... and Marty York as Alan 'Yeah-Yeah' McClennan.

Just a couple years prior to her Peffercorn performance, Marley made her film debut in "Grand Canyon" with Danny Glover and Steve Martin.

Caitlyn Jenner's longtime friend and manager, Sophia Hutchins, is dead following a tragic ATV accident near Caitlyn's home ... TMZ has learned.

Sophia was pronounced dead Wednesday morning in Malibu, according to law enforcement and family sources. We're told Sophia was riding the ATV on the road where Caitlyn lives when she struck the bumper of a moving car -- that impact forced the ATV over the shoulder ... sending it, and Sophia, plummeting 350 feet down into a ravine.

Our sources say the first responders who reached Sophia, pronounced her dead on the scene. Two people in the car Sophia struck were not injured. It's unclear if Caitlyn was home at the time, or if she witnessed the fatal collision. We do know no one else was harmed on the ATV.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom haven't said a peep publicly about their split ... save for some cryptic social media posts ... but now they're having their teams do their dirty work.

The former couple's reps just released a joint statement to Us Weekly ... addressing their breakup head on for the first time.

The statement reads ... "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting."

Flavor Flav is calling for the United States to ban all firearms ... he says the country is caught in a "epidemic of gun violence with no sign we can stop or change course."

The rapper called on a gun ban in an op-ed in Newsweek ... Flav says he fears for his kids when he drops them off at school, and that school shootings are so common they have become normalized.

Flav says ... "Our schools aren't safe and our kids aren't safe. This is because gun protection laws are weak."

A couple bonehead youth baseball coaches from Illinois got fired after getting buck naked and running the bases in the nude at a tournament in New York.

Video circulating on social media shows two men streaking at one of the ballfields at Cooperstown All Star Village ... and one guy even slides head first into home plate, completely in the nude.

The guys on the video are reportedly youth baseball assistant coaches from Lake Bluff, Illinois ... and the stunt appears to have happened with kids watching.

Michael Madsen's health was cleared by doctors just days before his sudden death -- this according to his longtime friend and assistant, Dougie Smith.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., days after sharing the ring with Jake Paul, is locked in a jail cell ... after ICE agents arrested the former champ over a warrant in Mexico for alleged weapons trafficking and connections to a cartel.

Officials from the Department of Homeland Security tell TMZ Sports that 39-year-old Chavez Jr., the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., was detained Thursday in Studio City over an active warrant out of our neighbors to the south.

The warrant, according to the U.S. gov, stems from Chavez's alleged involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
