Now we know why Sydney Sweeney -- who had no obvious connection to Jeff Bezos or Lauren Sanchez Bezos -- was invited to their wedding ... it all has to do with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Jeff and Lauren, along with tech mogul Michael Dell, plunked down $1 billion in a venture capital company called Coatue. A dude named Ben Schwerin is a partner in Coatue.

Well, the well-connected Schwerin is funding Sweeney's new lingerie line, according to Puck News, so therein lies the connection. Essentially, it looks like Coatue is backing Sydney and Jeff and Lauren are backing Coatue.

Famous runner Fauja Singh -- believed to have been the oldest marathon finisher in history -- was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident. He was 114 years old.

The fatal incident happened on Monday in Singh's home village of Beas Pind in India ... when he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross a road. He succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

His son, Harvinder Singh, told Asia News International the driver of the vehicle that struck his father drove off ... and law enforcement is now gathering details.

Conor McGregor doesn't seem to have a care in the world as he celebrates his 37th trip around the sun -- his birthday festivities are going strong ... despite trending worldwide for his alleged private pics getting plastered all over social media.

The UFC superstar had a helluva Monday -- rapper Azealia Banks accused him of sending "unsolicited" nude photos and instructing her not to "be a rat" about it ... and provided alleged proof of his actions to go with it.

Ex-MLB pitcher Daniel Serafini -- the Minnesota Twins' first-round pick in the 1992 draft -- was found guilty of murder on Monday.

According to the Placer County District Attorney's Office, the baseball player was also convicted of attempted murder and first-degree burglary following a jury trial.

The charges stemmed from allegations that Serafini had brutally attacked his in-laws, Gary Spohr and Wendy Wood, during a 2021 incident in Tahoe City.

Michael Madsen can be seen giving one of his final performances in the comedy-drama "Concessions" ... filmed before his death earlier this month.

Kaff's band, "Mutual of Alameda’s Wild Kingdom," posted an announcement on Facebook, saying he died peacefully in his sleep, but no cause of death was given.

The hard rock group said they were devastated by Kaff's death, explaining that he was kind, quick-witted and would always make people smile.
