Christa Pike is back on her feet after surviving two lethal injections ... she's now able to walk again following the botched execution.

Her lawyer, Stephen Ferrell, told the BBC ... "She is up and walking for the first time today, but just around the room, not very far."

Additionally, a spokesperson for her attorney Randy Spivey told PEOPLE she's "taken a few steps."

Los Angeles Trash House Mayor Slams Homeowner as Garbage Piles Up

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass' office is outraged over the infamous "trash house" ... after the property once again became buried in garbage and debris.

A spokesperson for the Mayor tells TMZ ... "It is outrageous that the owner of this private property has once again allowed the conditions to disintegrate and neighbors are forced to live near this mess. The Mayor's Office, in coordination with the Council Office and multiple City Departments, has cleaned up this health and safety hazard on more than one occasion."

The spokesperson says the criminal case against the property owner remains ongoing as the court considers appointing a conservator. The Mayor is urging the L.A. County Department of Mental Health to support the appointment, which would create a responsible party to ensure the property does not deteriorate again.

Charles Manson family killer Patricia Krenwinkel is on the doorstep of freedom after being recommended for parole in California ... but Governor Gavin Newsom could still step in and keep her locked up.

Krenwinkel, who was among the Manson family members convicted in the Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969, was granted parole on a preliminary basis Tuesday ... according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

It's the third time 78-year-old Krenwinkel has been approved for parole ... Newsom used his power to prevent her release the previous two times ... and it will be interesting to see if he does so again or if the third time's the charm for Krenwinkel.

The woman at the center of the "Cornell 7" gang rape case was the victim of a "swatting" incident this week, prompting heavily armed police to respond to her home and causing concern for her and her family ... according to her lawyer.

Her attorney, Thomas Giuffra, told CNN's Kaitlan Collins Wednesday night that his client -- known as Jane Doe -- was still reeling from Tuesday night's swatting incident that brought law enforcement officers to her doorstep with their guns drawn.

Giuffra said Doe's family filed a police report detailing what happened ... according to the report, a person called 911 claiming a man had shot his mother to death before turning the gun on his sister ... they gave cops her address, but the info was totally bogus.

5-Year-Old Boy Dies After Display Board Lands On Him at School

A 5-year-old boy lost his life Wednesday after a large video display board reportedly came crashing down on him at a Florida school.

Cops say the tragic incident occurred around noon at Riviera Elementary School in Palm Bay, FL, which is nearly 175 miles north of Miami.

Palm Bay PD Deputy Chief Nick Szczepanski told reporters that school staff quickly called 911 and administered first aid to the severely injured boy as police and paramedics raced to the scene.

The boy, identified by his family as Bellamy Dawkins-Morris, was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
